This effect is achieved by setting the camera up on a tripod and taking two pictures which are identical in positioning, except that the subject (in this case me) moves between the two shots. The two negatives are then sandwiched together in a single holder to make the print (which requires a long exposure to get through all of it). You can tell this was the case because of the way you can see the edge of the post through my hands. The way the background ivy tends to show through each of my faces and shirts is also a clue.
