Don't depend on a script. Having to read every word and check every action will almost instantly kill any energy people had going. (This goes for solitary rituals too!)
Be sure you can see what you are doing. I like to use a lot of candles. If you opt for this, be sure to have candleholders that will catch the wax and not let it drip all over altar, cloth, shelf, carpet...!
Be sure the power you raise has somewhere to go. Think of some kind of outlet or working besides the grounding, which is only intended to get rid of excess energy, not all of it.
Before you let people who are not normally part of your group into a group ritual, check them out to see if their energies are harmonious. If they are of a wildly different pattern than you, this can seriously disrupt and/or distract you.
Always ask for the opinions of the others in the group about the ritual you wrote (after performing it). The more comments you get, the better the next ritual will be.
