I don't get a sense of ordering the universe into quarters or threes or sevens; it all sits in flux and IS. there are certain currents/colors/vibes that are identifiable as recurring, though.
Moon feels to correspond to majik in general. fire/energy/magic/power/light ?
Earth and Sky… celestial/starry and earthy currents… neither is light and the other dark; neither do they seem to like both having light and dark halves. They want to be recognized as two but not as dualistic and not further split.
1. The power of the moon, the stars, and night's shadows.
2. The power of the stones, mountains, caves, and deep earth places.
3. The power of the boundless sea.
4. The power of the sun and daylight.
5. The power of sky, storm, rain, wind, clouds and mists.
6. The power of the living land, trees, plants and beasts.
7. The power of rivers, wells and lakes.
Nine currents/paths of power: Night (dark, shadow, moon); Day (light, sun, fire); Stars; Sea; Winds (clouds, weather, lightning); Waters (rivers, rain, lakes); Stones (stones/caves/deep places); Green (trees/plants/flowers); Beasts. Each one of these might have a "tutelary" being of some kind? (not a place to go just yet) -- March 2005
This doesn't, and isn't supposed to, map to the directions of Woods, Winds, Waters, Sun, Moon, Stars, and Majik. That's a more esoteric, symbolic thing. The fact that they both appear in sevens is not evidence of relationship. These are the currents visible at work in the natural world, each of which manifests in various forms, but one can tell from the forms what phenomena are related to each other, thus, arising from the same current.
Sea Current
The tides are the result of the moon pulling at the sea. The
sea is like the womb and its magic has much to do with childbearing, life
and death.
The Flowtide is the time of increasing power, gentle growth. It is growing
in the womb and being born.
The Hightide is the time of full power, strong life, magic. It is living one's
life.
The Ebbtide is the time of decreasing power, change, passing. It is dying
and releasing the spirit from the body.
The Lowtide is the time of the still point, of void before things grow again.
It is being in the Bright and Shadow Realms as one of the dead.
The lore of Wind-and-Rain says that these Tides are alike to the winds, the
Flow to the East and round the circle, and much can be learned of the Tides
by studying the Winds, and vice versa. There are Riders on the Seas, but they
are not restricted by the tides, since the Winds come and go as they please
where the Tides are controlled by the moon.
Sky and Wind Current
The North and South winds are the "barren" winds, of power, fierce and strong,
direct in their action. The East and West winds are the "fertile" winds, gentler
in their character.
The North wind is fierce in change and will blow you clean of all negative
things. It can be fierce in its change and can bring destruction or freeze
like winter's ice. It is full of swift motion. The wind of the Wild. Its color
is black midnight.
The East wind is gentle and joyful, a wind of light and song, spring and new
life. It is moist with the morning dew. It nurtures and inspires. Its color
is the golden-red of the new-risen sun.
The South wind is strong and hot, full of power. Like the North wind, it can
bring swift change and forcefully purify. It is a wind of hot blood, of summer,
and sometimes of war. Its color is the blinding white of noonday.
The West wind is the wind of rains, of the sea, of sunset, of autumn into
winter. It is the wind of peace and death, of the voyage over the sea at the
sunset of life, or of the death of the day and the birth of dreaming. Its
color is the blue-gray of twilight.
Riders on the Winds - like Aldebaran, Regulus, Antares, Fomalhaut? or lesser?
or groups even? the phrase is strong, but description weak. A connection -
four Riders, Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Almost like the "Qlippoth" of the
directions.
Moon/Star/Night Current
The Seven Stars = the seven circumpolar constellations that never set (in
Egypt - I'm unclear on how latitude affects how many constellations appear
never to set), the seven Watchers of Stellar Gnosis. Draco (Dragon), Ursa
Major (Hippopotamus or Typhon), Cepheus (Kaph-Ape), Anubis (Jackal), Cygnus
(Ibis of Thoth-Tehuti), Lyra (Kephra, the Winged Beetle), Horus (Human Divinity).

Draco and Ursa Minor (Polaris)
Lyra (Vega)
Auriga (Capella)
Cygnus
The principal brightest stars: Sirius, Betelgeuse, Vega, Arcturus, Antares, Fomalhaut, Aldebaran, Regulus,
the Milky Way as the "Bird's Way" or Way of Souls, the river to the Otherworld, traveled by the dead
dark is entropy, chaos. the force which breaks symmetry, causes forms to be and then to decay back to source, push and pull. it is the opposite of stasis - it is what shapes "light" energy/matter. entropy is not a "force" in the same sense as those; it is their "anti force" and yet, the thing which caused them to be in the first place by breaking symmetries. First Mother Night - one becomes many becomes one, solve et coagula.
River and Well Current
The Voice of the Waters: got this one while listening closely to a fountain,
and hearing something a bit different for the first time, like it was definitely
language, just one I couldn't understand, and many voices speaking at once,
the sound of a crowd. In the Voice of the Waters is prophecy and secret "dark"
knowledge, intuition, vs the bright inspiration of the creative and cunning
fire. Begin with waterfall, river, creek or ocean, something that makes considerable
noise. Eventually you will attune to the spirits within the water and come
to understand their voice and language, and at length will be able to summon
forth the voice of the still water in a cauldron.
